Hey Family, Welcome to BOLD Day 4! Catch up on days 1-3 here and subscribe while you're at it 😉. I won’t be before you long. Today, I’m here to give a personal account of boldness. I’ve been bold for Jesus since the day I met Him. It didn’t really make sense any other way for me. I know not everyone has the same story. This is a portion of mine. For me, being known, called, and chosen by Jesus was so much better than anything I had ever experienced in my life. My boldness comes from a place of love and appreciation for Him saving my life time and time again, even when I couldn’t recognize it. My boldness comes from the gratitude of being set free from all the bondage that had been choking my soul daily. I remember walking into work the Monday after getting baptized. I was proud to share with my coworkers when they asked how my weekend was. “I got BAPTIZED!!!” I felt so fresh, so new, so free. It was the most amazing feeling - knowing that I had made a decision. A public decision to choose life. I’m getting emotional just thinking about it. In that same timeframe, I was cutting off sin left and right. I was fearless in the face of my past. I recall blatantly telling a former fling that I was waiting until marriage now. I poured all my alcohol down the drain. I threw out my marijuana. I got rid of all the paraphernalia that told the story of a life of debauchery. My closet had never been so empty. New with tags tossed out like rags. I blocked and deleted numbers. I left group chats. God was cultivating something within me. I even left my six-figure job with no notice and no backup plan in the middle of getting promoted. I still remember walking around the office with the biggest smile on my face, sharing that I was going to work for Jesus. There was so much that I didn’t understand back then, I just knew in my heart that God was calling me. Since then, He’s taken my boldness to new levels consistently. I pray for people in public, talk to God audibly, I dance, I sing, I shout, I rejoice! I’ve walked around the city with “Jesus” signs and a smile. I’ve sown thousands while my bills were unpaid and piling up. From the outside looking in, I was mentally unstable 😂 He’s changed my name. My voice, tone, demeanor. Now my desires are different; I'm wired different. He’s given me patience for anger and joy for jealousy. I’ve released control. I’ve surrendered to His will and His plan for my life. I can be a little undignified, but I wouldn't have it any other way. | 2 Samuel 6:21-22 If I were to die today, I can truly say that I would be content. Because I know where I’m going! I made a choice. The best choice I could ever make. And I would make it again and again and again. In fact, I do - I make it daily! Every day, I choose to live for Jesus. I choose to submit to His voice. Boldness comes from making a decision. Answering the question, who are you living for? And then, going all out. If you're living for you, you’ll always be a little lukewarm. You’ll encounter situations where you feel speaking up about your Savior is too risky, too taboo, too “out there.” You'll be led by your logic, emotions, and feelings instead of by the Spirit. You’ll run into people who you think you might offend if you talk about your God. So, you’ll keep silent even when Ruach HaKodesh is drawing you to open your mouth. When you’re living for yourself, you’ll let pride and the fear of men infiltrate your heart. You’ll get comfortable denying and rejecting the only love you’ve ever known. But when you live for Him. When you’re living for Him, every moment becomes an opportunity to usher in an encounter of His love and mercy. You’ll extend grace to others more often than you receive it. You’ll let go of things quicker, so you can stay close to Him. You’ll go where HE sends you, and you’ll have more adventures than you could ever imagine. Your love for yourself and others becomes pure and abundant. You’ll find joy in the small things. You’ll become a child again, relying on Him daily for everything. Seeking to make Him proud. Smiling up at the sky because you know He’s smiling down. You'll experience correction, and you'll welcome new challenges to grow and evolve, because you believe in what He knows about you. There’s so much hope in commitment. There’s so much assurance in knowing the oil of your relationship will never run dry because He is the source. You’ll see beauty within chaos, you’ll find joy in difficult times. Every single day you’re alive, you’ll thrive. Not because life’s perfect, but because He’s prepared a place. He gives us more, more, more, Grace. Thanks for listening. See you tomorrow for Day 5. Until glory, Jei Interested in receiving personalized support in becoming more bold for Christ?
